The LA-V8 is a line array speaker, and they are all built-in threeway designs with two 10“ neodymium magnet low-frequency units, an 8” mid-range driver with horn, and two 1.4“ highfrequency compression drivers mounted on a ring-type waveguide unit (2.5” voice coil). “ voice coil). Since the neodymium magnet low-frequency units are symmetrically dipole-arranged with the coaxially constructed mid-range and high-frequency units, the cross-coupling design allows for smooth superimposition of adjacent frequency bands, which results in an excellent 80° horizontal constant directional dispersion angle to control the low-frequency floor down to 250 Hz.

The mechanical components and acoustic design allow the V8/Vi8 to be used as a vertical line array system of up to 24 loudspeakers, whose vertical coupling angle can be adjusted from 0° to 14° in 1° steps. Each line array can be utilized exclusively with the V8 or Vi8, or in combination with the V12/Vi12 or V-SUB/Vi-SUB.

The speaker cabinet is made of marine plywood with an impactresistant and weatherproof PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the enclosure is fitted with a sturdy metal protective grille lined with acoustically transmissive foam, and the V8 enclosure has a recessed handle on each side panel, plus a pair of notched handles on the bottom rear of both the V8 and Vi8.
